Blissfully Domestic Living

The Magazine & Community all for you!

I know there are some creative ladies on this site, and I want to know what kind of fun projects you are working on! Are you quilting, knitting, painting? I am in the process of making some aprons for swaps that I am doing, and am trying to choose fabrics for a bath mat I want to make (fabric on one side, towel on the other). I will post some pictures as I go...anyone else??

Ooh! I would love to see the cookbook when you are done - that is such a cool gift idea!
Isn't that Ikea fabric yummy? I want to make aprons with it!

IKEA.com stinks! I have an IKEA catalog from the stores and when people travel and I ask for things to be tucked back in their suitcases. When my husband went to California last year, I asked him to bring home two duvet covers for my boys' beds (including shams)...$12/ea!!!! You can't touch those prices.

I've been crocheting a never ending red, white and blue afghan. I haven't touched it in a longwhile and I need to get it finished. Especially before July.

Hey Darla,
Here is a good demo, with pictures!, on how to make tassels. http://www.nezumiworld.com/crochet_057.htm

Are you going into burlesque dancing? ;-)

Okay, feeling silly, but here goes: What are the tassels for?

I scrapbook. I am hoping to make page frames before a family friend of ours has twins. And of course I'm teaching my 6 year old how to.

This weekend we started the quilts for the dolls' beds (Marissa and Josefina needed bedding!). One side has monkey fabric and the other side has a pattern with orange and green and yellow (Alexandra says the dolls need to be able to turn their quilts from one side to the other depending upon their moods - who knew?). Next will be sheets for the beds, new covers for the cushions on my dining room chairs, and pillows for some couches.
