Remember My Big Fat Greek Wedding? The dad used Windex on everything! I was copycatting this--love me some Windex--when I read a rumor that Merry Maids housekeepers use a spray bottle with 4 drops of Dawn to clean everything. (I checked out their site and they do indeed recommend dishwashing liquid on their tips list.) So I mixed up a batch and gave it a whirl. Suprisingly, the diluted Dawn worked on everything(mirrors-glass-tile-wood-porcelain-whatever the tub is made of), with a better shine than Windex and no caustic smell like 409. Check out more tips on today's post. What's your fave go-to cleaner?
Method all-purpose spray cleaner is my favorite. I'll buy it in bulk when stores put the seasonal scents on clearance. That's pretty amazing about the Dawn; I wonder if it would work the same with Method dishwashing liquid or Dr. Bronner's liquid soap ?
I bet the brands you mentioned would work. I tested Ajax and Palmolive; they cleaned OK but definitely didn't shine. Since you just need a few drops, it's worth a shot!
I love Dawn~ I am not a "brand" shopper, but this is one brand I always buy. If it is good enough to clean up highways after a tanker truck full of crisco overturns, it's good enough for me!
Vinegar
Vinegar and water, baking soda, BioKleen cleaner/degreaser, 7th Generation dish soap, Cascade dishwasher soap (I haven't found a green one that works as well!), and I have a little bottle of Dawn as a grease stain remover when Zout won't get it out.
Actually on my trip to Target today I saw it! It is an all around cleaner that you can literally use on everything. (it can even be used as face/body wash and shampoo) I saw it today on the aisle with the burt's bees products. They had a sample size too for only 1.99 that would be good to try it out. plus, the bottle if fun to read because I think the man who created it was literally crazy.
