What's your fashion phobia? (Not that I need topic ideas or anything...)

Does keeping up with trends overwhelm you?

Are you STILL looking for the right jeans?

Do you wish you could do X, Y or Z with a little more confidence?

What's YOUR fashion phobia?

My fashion phobia is jumping on some flash-in the pan trend that lasts like three weeks and so a month later I look back and wonder , "What was I thinking?"

And yes, still looking for the right jeans ;).

Finding pants without back pocket or flap.

OK - I am totally at a loss at what "back pocket" is. LOL

You mean - like - the gap?

I LOVE PICKING SHOES!!!

Wait. No heels??

Well that IS a challenge! ;-)

Shoes...What do you do for a sz. 11 that can't feel comfortable in heels? How do you get comfortable in heels? Are there shoes that make your feet look smaller? What should big-foots like me avoid?

Accessories...How much is too much? How do you vary your color scheme with accessories?

Color schemes in general...if a neutral is neutral...can it be worn with other neutrals?

I can give you fodder for the rest of your life. My family has done "What Not To Wear" styled interventions with me before.

Flats are totally "in" right now, making it much easier for you to find shoes. How would I know? I wear a 10! Love my privos...they're current and comfortable without being trendy!

I've got one that just popped up this morning. Am I too old to jump on the short dark nail trend? At 27 am I too old for dark nail polish? Eeeek!

I usually go by a rule that if you were around the first time for the trend skip it the second time.

LOL, I've never heard that rule, but it's probably a good one.

Wait. I like some of my 80's stuff...

Reply to This

Oh yes, very important rule. I remember my sister wearing Gladiator sandals in the 80's and this weekend she showed up at my mom's in...gladiator sandals. It was kinda weird.

How about this? In this months Real Simple magazine there's an article about the essential white button down shirt (I stay away from button down since they pop open around my boobs and now my baby bump) and there's a woman who says she wears a white button down shirt everyday. She says it makes getting dressed easy and a basic white button down can be dressed up or down. I agree...but everyday? Discuss and enlighten me.

I am STILL looking for the "essential white button down shirt" - because, well, yes, the button popping. And I have little boobies!!

But nothing - NOTHING should be worn every day.

It's a wardrobe.

Not a uniform.

I bought one of those, but I don't feel "pretty", "happy" or "whatever" in t, so I still don't wear it.

That is a fantastic rule and one I guess I've been using all along.

Second rule, if you see someone half your age wearing it, think twice. I live next to a middle school and down the street from a high school, I get lots of input on this one. (Although I secretly want a hoodie decorated with skulls.)
