How many times have you moved?

And how long have you been married?
We've been married almost 13 years and have moved 11 times! That sure has helped me learn what I want and don't want in a house! Not to mention helped me figure out how to make it homey quickly and easily. What about you?

We moved around a lot when I was a kid (my father worked for GMAC and they kept moving their headquarters between Detroit and Manhattan, amongst other moves). Then I spent most of my twenties in college/grad school...moved every year or two then. Since we've married we've moved "up" in houses, moved across the country, moved "up" in houses again...and then sold our "final" home (whose mortgage was beyond us after unexpected career changes) and are now renting. So, in a year or two we hope to move again. Next time we won't be moving "up" in houses!; ▶ Reply to This

That is unless you count that we lived in a trailer and built our house directly behind it. And really I didn't move then, because I went into labor with our 2nd child, and my family had to move everything for me.
