I love books!!! I read just about anything, but lately I got hooked to reading Christian books, I haven't finished my Anne Frank and A Million Little Pieces yet, but I am getting there... I hope... Yeah, I read several books at a time, I'm crazy I know... LOL!

I admit my reading has taken a backseat to learning the whole blogging thing, but I adore books! I usually have three or four going at one time. My fav's change by season and what I am doing at the time. Fiction or Non, it's all good. So looking forward to seeing the things you recommend. I am always up for a period book or ones that evolve around the relationship dynamics of women - especially family women of multiple generations. Seems like I always learn so much from them while I am enjoying them.

I just finished A Bride Most Begrudging by Deeane Gist. It was an excellent book! I love romance novels but hate when they start to get well...raunchy. This one was excellent! I told you I was a prude! :O) I'm starting her second one now, I'll let you know how it was.

I am totally addicted to the written word, but also have a short attention span (more often than I would like to admit), so my husband actually helped me with this by coming up with a great reading plan.
I read for 5-10 minutes in several different types of books (parenting, ministry, spiritual, my Bible, leadership, networking, etc) and usually spend about an hour or so reading every day. It helps me develop myself as a leader and also exposes me to many different types of books at the same time without overwhelming myself with too much information.
So, what am I reading...here ya go,
* Bible (NIV)
* Four Mini Daily Devotionals (Leadership, Joyce Meyer, Max Lucado, etc.)
* The Four Seasons of Marriage (Gary Chapman)
* Teaching True Love to a Sex-at-13 Generation (Eric/Leslie Ludy) <--our pastor gave this to all parents of teenagers at our church.
* Do You Think I'm Beautiful (Angela Thomas)
* Listen to Your Life (Valorie Burton)
* The Compassionate Samurai (Brian Klemmer)
* The Low GI Diet Revolution
* Network Marketing Training

Sounds like a lot, but it actually works well for me and also allows me to stretch myself a little bit!

This has been a Young Adult weekend for me - I was looking for fast, easy reads to take my mind off my problems. One of my favorites was JINX by Meg Cabot. It was about a teenage witch and it was just a fun read!

Of course, I'm reading THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO for my on-line book club this month, so I also read a few chapters of this. I think this book is the reason I wanted to read something light and fluffy. THE COUNT is pretty deep - I can't believe I never read this in High School!

I received 3 ARC books in the mail this week:

Far World: Water Keep by J. Scott Savage (a new YA series, book 1 of 5)

Postal Blue Image by Edie Bradley LaDuke

Two Brothers: One North, One South by David H. Jones

I'm going to have fun reading this weekend! I'll send a link as soon as I post the reviews! :)
