Glad to have found this group, I am a nutritional health coach and love inspiring individuals to live a healthier life and at the same time I am always learning and looking for inspiration as well.

I'm so excited to be part of the group!

My husband and I are working to make our lives healthier before we start a family, so I'm stoked to get any info that I can get!

Blessings!

Sounds interesting Wendy. Thanks for the tip. I'll have to check it out.

Hi Calie and all you gals! I've been borrowing a wonderful book from my sister that is so wonderful I just have to share. It's called Nourishing Traditions. If anyone is sold on the USDA food pyramid, you may not appreciate it, but it is rock solid, evidence-backed health information and a cookbook, to boot! I've learned so much about why certain foods don't work for me or others don't work for my husband, and preparing them differently makes them much more digestible. Anyway, check it out for yourselves! Have a great week!

I love learning about anything that can help me to live a healthier lifestyle and work every day to pass this passion on to my boys. I'm looking forward to sharing ideas. I blog about our families effort to live a healthier, happier life at www.broccolicupcake.com.

Wendy, thank you for your kind compliment :).
To be honest, what inspired me to start living a healthy lifestyle is someone who is right now in the hospital, a leukemia patient who is very very dear to me - my niece. Seeing her suffering like that made me realize that if I don't act on myself now, there's a chance I will also be suffering on a hospital bed someday - not of leukemia but of diabetes which incidentally runs in our genes, or maybe hypertension, or just anything that is obesity-related. I don't think I'll be able to survive even just a day inside a hospital room, let alone on a hospital bed! I am too claustrophobic for that!

Hazel, I just want to tell you how very proud I am of you! It is so hard to take that first step toward a lifestyle change, but with each step, the momentum increases and it gets easier and easier. I pray you will stay the course. You are an inspiration to those of us who have given up...I need to do it too! Enjoy your new life and the new you:-)

Hi Everyone,

I joined this group because two weeks ago, I finally decided to quit living a "couch-potato" life and do something about the extra 50 pounds that's been tipping me off the scale. I started brisk-walking for 30 minutes everyday and today, 30 minutes is too short already so I walk an hour a day now. I have also incorporated ab workouts on my daily routine and of course, have become conscious of what I eat and what I stock in my fridge.

Over a month ago I never would have thought I'll soon decide a change in lifestyle. I thought it was too much work, required too much time and effort. But now, two weeks or so into it, I can say that I was wrong. I feel so much better, so lighter (like it's easier to shift from one task to another - no more "mind conditioning"!) and my husband noticed a natural glow in my skin. Must be all that oxygen my heart now pumps into my veins.

Healthy living, as I now have realized, is indeed a must for all of us. It enables us to balance our lives and enjoy God's gift to us as well. I'm happy to finally be able to step out of my box. :)

Greetings! Healthy living is definitely a main interest of mine. As we grow older, we need to do all we can to stay healthy and keep our quality of living in tip-top shape. Healthy skin care is one of my focus points - visit my blog at PureCleanSkin
