We live in a 2000 square foot apartment and I'm not afraid to say that there have been times I've screamed "Help!" Between the husband, the teen and a dog ~ all males I dream of future cleaning products like Rosie the Robot!

Just joined this group today. It is so exciting finding people who have unique passions similar to your own. My challenge has always been learning when to just let it go and enjoy life instead. Somehow though, as I get older, I'm getting better at balancing a clean and organized home with just being in the moment. www.JustAnAllAmericanGirl.blogspot.com

I do 'spring cleaning' (my mom called it that when I was young) twice a year, usually around the time change. This is a deep cleaning, which is basically the things that I would NOT want to do more than twice a year! My list of these is: wipe/dust WHOLE ceiling fan, wipe walls down, vacuum mattresses, dust/wipe down base boards, vacuum inside window frames when they are open, wash my windows inside/out, dust/vacuum high window seals etc
Something you can try to help with your freshness - buy a cheap box fan and buy an air filter that fits it. Put the fan in your dustiest room, turn it on, place the filter on back, grab a fabric softener sheet and put on back of the filter. You will be amazed at how this makes the room smell good AND it is GREAT at collecting the dust. Do this when you dust the room and it helps get more dust up!!
Hope it helps!

how often should you "deep clean" your home? Once a season? Once a month? Right now I'm just doing it as necessary (aka when I'm hosting a large event at my house), but would like to get into a consistent routine as well. Any thoughts?

Also, with 2 dogs (who stay well-groomed), how do I keep my house smelling fresh without the overload of extraneous fragrances (candles, plug-in's, etc,)?

My Cleaning Routine has gotten quite a lot of feedback lately. I recently did a series after letting my house go called Climbing Out of The Mess. You can find Day 1 here - http://laurelplumonline.com/getting-started/climbing-mess-day-1/

I developed the routine because I am too lazy to spend a lot of time cleaning, but there is something in me that has to have a clean home.

I thought there may be some of you that would at enjoy reading the series. And if you have some tips for me, I would love that, too!
