it may be very tedious and expensive, but you could gold flake one wall, or check out wall paper instead of paint? I don't know if you could get the 'real deal' from a paint can. Maybe you could also check http://www.rustoleum.com/
I am fairly new here and saw where you left a comment on one of the groups. I just thought I would stop in and say, "Hi!". Maybe my dreams are not lofty enough. I could not even begin to imagine living in that big of a place! I bet it was a lot of fun. ;-)
Just popping by to welcome you here officially! I am so glad you joined Blissfully Domestic and thrilled that you are a part of our new group! We are just getting started but I think it is going to be a great forum! I can't wait to be inspired each season!
Nice to meet you!

I get so excited to help people decorate their homes! I worked in a design firm that only did high-end residential (totally custom, 10,000 square ft. minimum residential) where clients wanted only what no one else had. It was fun to be creative with those kinds of projects & have a budget that most of us can only DREAM of having. Many years later, I have stared my own design business and LOVE doing great design on a very limited budget...it is still very creative...and most of all...practical! Who really NEEDS 20 yards of Fortuny silk (@ $300/yard!) for a window treatment?????
