About Me:

I'm a not-quite-40 gal who finally decided to take the plunge into domesticity. Much of my free time this past year has been spent in an attempt to conquer the domestic arts of cooking and sewing. I work full time as an elementary school librarian/media specialist but I secretly dream of spending every day at home with the sewing machine buzzing, an iron in one hand and a spatula in the other. Ok...maybe not everyday...make that 3 days a week and I'll fill the others with shopping, movies, travel, etc...

What is your favorite part of Homekeeping?

The feeling of accomplishment that comes with a job well done. And ironing.

What is your least favorite part of Homekeeping?

Cleaning litter boxes. blech.

A particularly domestic weekend

As a domestic wannabe, I'm pretty proud of myself this weekend. OK, so I spent way to many hours online at the Ultimate Blog Party, HOWEVER, I did manage to get in some domesticity!

Thanks to a snow day, I got up early Friday morning and put on some non-frumpy clothes despite the fact that it was a snow day. I even put my shoes and some jewelry on! Once I was dressed and in "Beige Face" mode, I donned one of my favorite vintage aprons and got to work.

Taste of Home Cooking School

Hey Ya'll! If the Tast of Home Cooking School comes to yer neck of the woods, you should get tickets! The tour stopped in my home town this week and I hit it up with a few of my girlfriends. A chef from Taste of Home demonstrated recipes from a Spring issue of the mag. For the mere ticket price of 10 bucks we were treated to the cooking demos, MCormick samples and recipes, two Taste of Home mags and two ToH mini cookbooks. It was fun and informative!
