I was born in rural South Dakota to an impoverished sixteen-year-old. I had your typical illegitimate childhood. I was on the fast track to becoming white trash until my mom loaded up her three kids into a Nissan Stanza and droves us to North Carolina on a bucket of change. Twenty-seven years later, I am still living on the East Coast disguised as a suburban stay-at-home mom. I credit my trailer free life style to my mother and my extreme aversion to waitressing. Before I popped out the kid, I was a high school English teacher for five years. I am currently, two credits shy of a masters in education, and I graduate this December. Besides school and diapers, I have a kick-ass husband who does not mind that I share the details of our marriage with complete strangers. My hobbies during nap-time include, reading, baking, writing, and yoga. I am enjoying my greenhouse-admitting life style to the fullest, yet I know in the back of my mind that with the next big hurricane, it is back to the trailer and the Hamburger Helper for me.
Read your article! You did a great job! I love the pic...where is that? Your camera takes great pictures!! I need to check it out. I will call you today. :) We need to set up a playdate. :)

Hey Melissa! :) We LOVE to travel. So yeah, we're missionaries in Poland...our main ministry here has been working with college students. We provide activities/get togethers outside of their classes where we can tell them about Jesus. Right now we have an evangelistic coffeehouse every Friday night where we invite students to come to "The Well" and get free drinks/desserts and provide opportunities for them to talk to us and their peers about their faith or lack thereof. :) We absolutely LOVE it! :) Poland is a lovely country...hard language though! :)
not a weird question at all and i'm glad you asked. i will look into it and get back to you. this would make a great future post for Blissfully Domestic, so thank you. :)
Your "About Me" section is hysterical! It can be hard not to fall into the white trash lifestyle when living in the south. Sometimes I feel as if they are calling my name to come join them! Living in Georgia gives plenty of opportunity to do so, but it also offers a good time to be "normal" as well.
thank you for the much needed laugh while reading your "about me"! (still laughing over "it is back to the trailer and the Hamburger Helper for me.") I love your sense of humor!
