I heard mineral make-up is shiny looking. Since I hate shine, I've stayed away from it. Is that truth or fiction?

I love BE, and I am not a fan of shine, either. The "mineral veil" product is a little bit too shiny for my taste, but you don't have to use it. Just the foundation itself doesn't have too shiny a look.

I prefer to say "glow" LOL but yes it will give you shine. It took me a little while to get used to it. With my previous makeups I liked the matte look but now like how B.E. looks on me.

I finally started using B.E. a little over a year ago after wanting to get it forever but the price was just way too much for me. And I love it.

I use everyday minerals too!!! I use the original glo version. LOVE IT!

I don't mind the shallow container (I buy the largest size they have - the smaller one is annoying).

I use Everyday Minerals as well! I just got my mom (a B.E. user) to send for the sample, she hasn't told me how she likes them yet but I love them!

Dark Circles! Ugh. I hate them. I think they show my age worse than any wrinkles that are cropping up.

Any recommendations for getting rid of the dark circles? And if I can't get rid of them, is there a way to cover them up without being too obvious about it?

I have those, too. I used to use concealer, but then I saw on What Not to Wear to put a dot of light eye shadow at the inside and outside corners of my eyes (and blend, of course). It's much less glaring of a technique.

You beat me to it! :)
One of my tricks is to use a foundation in a shade lighter than you normally use rather than a concealer under your eyes if concealer tends to be too heavy for you.

I have been using the dot of light eye shadow(thanks Alicia) and also like the idea of just using a lighter foundation.

Additionally, I recently found a product that seems to be working out for me and my dark circles! It's Physician's Formula Circle Rx. It is a concealer type product, but not terribly heavy or obvious.

Supposedly, after a few weeks, I'll see a noticeable difference. That remains to be seen, but it does do a decent job of camouflaging the dark circles.

My biggest problem is that I can't ever find a foundation that a) I don't feel clausterphobic wearing. I literally feel like I can't breathe with the stuff on and b) that doesn't accentuate my *ahem* wrinkles! I've tried just about everything and it seems like everything makes the fine lines look NOT SO FINE at all thank you very much! LOL

Since I'm getting old... and getting age spots I need something that evens my skin tone, but have not been happy with anything. SOOOO.. I've been doing a little tinted moisturizer (very little on the tint) and bronzing powder to try and even the skin, but it never quite gives me the look I was going for.

Um, not that I have any wrinkles to cover disguise or age spots (leftover marks from acne, either), you understand, but I am having very good results using moisturizer/sunscreen, followed by spot concealer, and topped loose powder (of course, blush or bronzer ,etc., before powdering and mascara after powder). It stays on most of the day and the concealer isn't heavy (I don't buy creamy concealer). I use Bobbi Brown loose powder and drugstore concealers.
