Blissfully Domestic Living

The Magazine & Community all for you!

When I first started blogging last summer I wish I had a fairy-blogmother to hold my hand. I lost hundreds of hours of sleep trying to learn everything I could. The bags under my eyes were big enough to carry my laptop around!

The Domestic Divas and I are so thrilled to announce an additional area here at Blissfully Domestic Online -All Things Bloggy. Feel free to start new discussions, ask questions, share your favorite tips, tricks and secrets about all things bloggy.

Our social group of Blissfull Readers can be the fairy-blogmother I always needed!

Let's start today by sharing what is on your mind. Do you have a favorite tip, a burning question, or random bloggy musings?

We would love to hear!

Love, Fussy

I sell between $4-5k a month. I've been doing it for almost exactly a year now (and have been selling at this level for 9 mos). If it's rare, it's a good thing no one told me.

Of course I didn't set out to make this a "darn near" full time job, but it worked out that way. God winks.

Im on and off all day too. I check email first thing in the morning and last thing before going to bed and probably way too much in between. That is if I am home. If I had a blackberry it would seriously become an addiction I am afraid.

Dear Fussy,
Besides being frickin' fantastic, how did you get some many readers so fast? I use Blogher network for my ads and have made $35 since August. I post daily. Actually, I was pretty shocked I even made $35.

Could someone please tell me how to make a header for my blog? I use Blogger. I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure it out.

Karla, the managing editor & creative director at BD, designs headers. She is very reasonable and talented. She made this header!

I am curious about the amount of traffic that is "typical". Our blog (I blog with my sister) is almost 3 months old. We average about 180 unique visitors each day and 70 returning, but some days it spikes to 500-600 depending on someone throwing us some good old linky love.

Fussy, seriously. How do you get so much traffic?

That sounds like great traffic to me!

I think I did it through commenting & reading other blogs. I spent HOURS every night reading and commenting on blogs that I liked. This led to developing friendships with other bloggers and then links or mentions in the posts.

I also giveaway things. ;)

Luckily it is a slow week at work so maybe I will get something done. I have to admit that I have learned alot ust from reading this here post!

I spend about 2-3 hours off and on. This does not include my writing time however.
