According to our local Police Chief as quoted in our local fish wrapper (aka: the weekly paper) "You can buy all the fireworks you want...you just can't set them off in the state of Ohio." Ok, that makes sense. Purchasing said fireworks is legal. Shooting them off is not. You would have to take them over the border into a state that allows you to shoot them off.
So why is it legal to sell them in the first place? Why not just eliminate the selling part and make the whole thing illegal? Not that…

Today was the first day of Girl Scout camp. Erin did quite well - especially since her surgery was 4 days ago. We made a few concessions for her such as I brought a small camp chair for her as opposed to a sit-upon; she could tell us if she was too tired to play a game etc.

Yesterday was Girlie's last day of school - she had walked into that building as a Kindergardener and she walked out the building as a First Grader (covered in chocolate ice cream drips!) NutBoy's last day was the day before when he walked out a Fourth Grader.

My dd, Girlie, has congenital scoliosis. That means she was born with it. On Thursday, she will have her third expansion surgery of the VEPTR
(www.veptr.com) rods that were placed in her back 3 years ago. These expansions will continue until she reaches physical maturity - which for a girl is generally somewhere between 14 and 16 years of age. My Girlie is 6. The expansions are typically done every 4-6 months as the child grows. She is unusual in that it has be…
